At Anit Lezzet

Image
After our visit at  Anitkabir , we walked to a restaurant, Anit Lezzet, for our lunch.  We were told that staff at Anitkabir often have their meals there.  It is decribed as a kebab shop and steakhouse on their FaceBook Page .   From their store front, you can see the kind of food that are served there. Check out its interior. Our usual fare at all restaurants in Turkey. We were always served with soup, bread and salad. We could have a choice of beef kebab or a chicken dish. We were informed by Yavuz that pharmacuetical items in Turkey are cheaper.  So, if you have a presciption to fill, you may want to bring a list of all the medications you and your family members are taking so that you can make a comparison in price there.   There is a pharmacy behind Anit Lezzet but it was closed as we were there on a Sunday. We checked out the other shops nearby. These are Turkish watermelons seen sold in one of the shops. After lunch we headed off ...

Food Served in Restaurants

Most of our lunch were eaten in restaurants which are located along the routes to sites or shops we were scheduled to visit.  I wrote about the first lunch we ate at Dubb Kebab Restaurant in Istanbul .  I will share the main dishes from other restuarants we had eaten in Turkiye. We really appreciate the change in food served on the last day of our stay in Istanbul.  However, the most interes...

Our first meal in Istanbul

All our meals during the trip were provided for by SA Travel. Most dinners are eaten at the hotels we stayed at and they were served buffet style.  We only ate at restaurants while on the road or while we were out on excursions. Meals served in Turkish restaurants are similar to what you will get in a restaurant in Europe.  However, coffee or tea are not served free of charge and fruits are served as dessert. Our first meal was eaten at Dubb Kebab Restaurant located at Binbirdirek Mah Peykhane Cad No 34/1B Sultanahmet Fatih, Istanbul, Turkey, 34410. There is a  map  to the restaurant on their facebook page. You can view  its interior  from their website.   These were what we ate: Turkish rolls Salad with olive oil dressing From the website of Dubb Kebab Restaurant, I discovered that the Turkish lentil soup served is called  Mercimek corbasi   -A pack of plain water Our meals were usually followed by a choice of chicken or......
